Hear Finnish before you read it

Try a short listening challenge. Play a course recording, write what you hear, then reveal the sentence. No account is needed.

First, catch the meaning

On your first listen, do not stop at a word you missed. Try to catch the whole phrase. On the next listen, write the words you can hear, including short forms such as mä, tää and onks.

Read the answer, then listen again

Compare your attempt with the spoken line, not only the written reference. A missing ending may be a real feature of puhekieli. The lesson link explains the words and gives you more practice in the same situation.

From phrases to conversations

Short clips help you hear individual forms. Whole conversations add turns, context and the need to follow a reply. Continue into the free learning path for Kuuntelu scenes, or use the five-card ear test for another quick challenge.
